How to Travel to Geilo?  

Surrounded by majestic mountains and national parks, and close to the stunning fjords of Western Norway, Geilo is the ideal destination. Conveniently located between Oslo and Bergen, Geilo is easily accessible by car, bus, or train.

These Are the Transportation Options

By train:

Travel comfortably and quickly to Geilo by train! It takes approximately 3 hours from Bergen and 3.5 hours from Oslo.  
You can easily purchase your ticket in the Vy app, online, or at Vy ticket machines at the station. Remember to buy your ticket before boarding.

By car:

Recommended Route from Oslo
Follow the E16 from Oslo to Hønefoss, then take the National Road 7 (RV7) through Hallingdal to Geilo.
Travel time: Approximately 3 h 15 min, 219 km

Recommended Route from Bergen
Follow the E16 from Bergen to Trengereid, then take the National Road 7 (RV7) over Hardangervidda to Geilo.
Travel time: Approximately 3 h 50 min hours, 244 km 

Recommended Route from Trondheim
Follow the E6 from Trondheim to Lillehammer, then take the E16 to Fagernes, and finally National Road 51 (RV51) and National Road 7 (RV7) to Geilo.
Travel time: Approximately 7 hours, 528 km
