General terms & conditions

The following general terms & conditions apply to Geilo Booking AS and parties who, directly or through a third party, enter into an agreement with Geilo Booking according to what is stated in the booking comfirmation. Your reservation is confirmed when you receive a confirmation with a valid reservation number. Own conditions will apply for groups over 10 persons- a separate contract will be sent in connection with the reservation.

Geilo Booking AS is responsible to distribute your reservation and requests to the companies involved. Each company involved is responsible for the delivery of their products and services according to your reservation. Such reservation may contain accomodation, activities, transportation and/or other services presented on our booking pages. A reservation may contain a combination of two or more products and services. 

Please note that any claims or comments regarding accommodation, activities or other services that does not meet your expectations must be made directly to the company responsible. Geilo Booking AS has no responsibility for the delivering of products and services booked and paid through our company. 

A booking fee for booking made per telephone- or e-mail reservations directly to Geilo Booking is charged with NOK 250,-. 

Payment and security

Payment is done upon booking, by credit card, Apple Pay, and Vipps (vipps, only possible for Norwegian customers). Geilo Booking AS is liable for all payment transactions through our web portals.  Please note that your reservation will be cancelled if the payment transaction is incomplete. 
Our partner Nets Easy is liable for safe handling of your credit card information according to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

Only Geilo Booking AS, and the provider of each product and services will have access to your name and contact information. For further information about pricacy/GDPR, we refer to our privacy terms & conditions. 

Cancellations and/or amendments 

You can cancel your reservation via My Page which is linked to via your confirmation, or by contacting Geilo Booking at [email protected]. Geilo Booking is obliged to send a confirmation of your cancellation or amendment. The general cancellation deadline is 7 days prior to arrival. Some suppliers and partners have other terms of cancellation. In such cases, the terms and conditions will be displayed at the time of booking. Cancellations made before the deadline will receive a refund of the booking amount minus NOK 25,- per product group. Changes made before the cancellation deadline will be charged with NOK 50,-. No refund is provided for cancellations or amendments made after the cancellation deadline. Any changes made by the guest are regarded as a cancellation. Geilo Booking AS has no control over the exchange rate that will be calculated for refunds to credit cards and is not responsible for any loss incurred.

Cancellation Protection
When booking online, you have the option to purchase cancellation protection. By purchasing cancellation protection, you are entitled to a refund after the cancellation deadline has passed, as long as the reason for cancellation meets the terms of the cancellation protection. These terms must be accepted at the time of purchase, and you can also find them here: https://www.refundable.me/  The cancellation protection is managed by our partner, Protect Group. Insurance
In the unfortunate event of illness, accidents, loss or damage of luggage i.e we strongly recommend our guests to ensure that they are fully covered by a valid travel insurance. 

The Package Travel Act
Geilo Booking is a member of the Travel Guarantee Fund in Norway. If you have bought a travel package or a linked travel arrangement through us, you can read about the act relating to package travel and travel guarantees here:  https://lovdata.no/dokument/NLE/lov/2018-06-15-32.

The guest`s obligations
The guest is obliged to read and follow rules and instructions that apply for travelling, activities and accomodation and is economically liable to any damages caused. Geilo Booking AS and/or their partners may deny or expel guests that behave disturbing and/or cause damage. In such cases no refund will be given. You have to be 18 years or older in order to make a reservation with Geilo Booking AS. Identification may be requested.

Special accomodation terms 
- You have to be 21 years old to book Hotelroom, and 23 years old to book cabin/appartment. Some units have 25 years age limit. 
- Check in from 4 pm, check out before 11 am. 
- Age limit 20 years to make a reservation in connection to New Year´s weekend, Skarverennet and Easter Holiday. 
- Strictly no smoking indoors.
- Pets are allowed at some units/rooms. Additional charge may apply. 
- Between hours 11 pm and 7 am guests must be considerate and keep noise down. 

Special terms regarding purchase of skipass, ski/bike rental and ski school
Ski pass winter / lift pass summer:

General
Ski passes valid for more than a day must be used on consecutive days.

Price categories
Winter: Children 0-6 years (ride for free when wearing a helmet) / Youth 7-17 years / Adults 18-64 years / Senior 65+ years.
Summer: Children 0-4 years / Youth 5-15 years / Adults from 16 years.

Regarding age at purchase: The age at the time of purchase applies. For example, if the child turns 7 in January, the child can still use the lift pass for children aged 0-6 y/o all season if the pass is purchased before the date of birth.

* Season passes for family applies to families at the same place of residence. The cards MUST be purchased collectively and everyone in the family must be present when buying/picking up the cards. The cards remain personal. You can buy the season pass directly on our online booking or at our ski reception. Without a photo, the season pass is invalid. The season pass is personal and cannot be used by or transferred to others.

Refunds
There is no refund for lift passes due to bad weather, fog, snow, icing, technical errors or the like. The customer must assess the weather and driving conditions based on your own skiing skills. If you are uncertain about the weather and weather, contact the ticket reception before purchasing a lift pass.

In the event of injury or illness, reimbursement will be granted upon presentation of a medical certificate immediately after a doctor's visit. Reimbursement is only given to the person who is ill or injured, and only for those days, the ski pass has not been used.

No refunds are given on open or optional days.
* Regarding season passes / All Year passes: If more than 2/3 of the season passes validity remains, the amount corresponding to unused time will be refunded in full. No refund will be given if less than 2/3 of the season passes validity remains. The season pass winter is valid for 5 months: Dec-April. All Yeas season pass is valid for a total of 10 months: Dec-April + June-Oct, with the value divided with 40% on the summer period, and 60% on the winter period.

Safety
All guest are obliged to follow the alpine safety rules. Breaking the rules can result in expulsion from the resort. SkiGeilo reserves the right to confiscate lift passes on a temporary og permanent bases when the alpine safety rules are broken. Terms and reimbursement for Ski and Bike Rental

Credentials must be shown to rent equipment.

Equipment should only be used in open/prepared tracks.
SkiGeilo is not liable for personal injury caused to the tenant by the use of rental equipment.

The renter is financially responsible for the equipment during the rental period. Theft is not covered by equipment insurance. We recommend everyone to have your own travel insurance!

Terms and reimbursement for Ski School

Group education requires a minimum of 3 people. With 1 participant, group tuition changes to private tuition 2 days an 80 minutes. With 2 participants, group teaching for private lessons is spent 3 days an 80 minutes. Possible changes will be made right before beginning of the lesson, there will not be any added cost for the customer. 

Ski rental and lift passes are not included in the ski school. The customers have to have the necessary equipment and lift passes upon beginning of the lesson. 

The ski school doesn't stop if it's bad weather. If the chairlift closes, other lifts and training methods are used. No refund will be given if the guest chooses to end the hour anyway.

Make sure to give the right information upon booking the lesson. Giving the wrong information can mean that the customer will not be able to participate due to being put in the wrong level og age. It is not possible to switch group. There are no refunds in such cases. 

Our partners

Geilo Booking AS is responsible for paying our partners for the products and services you book through us. Our partners are liable for the delivery of their particular products and/or services including insurances, permissions, equipment, staff and other requirements according to rules and legislations. Age limits and prices are decided by each partner.

Force Majeure and reservations
Geilo Booking AS is not liable in case of unpleasant weather conditions, closed facilities or other circumstances beyond our control that may occur. Geilo Booking AS are reserved to any changes in the description of products and services, technical specifications and price adjustments made by our partners. Geilo Booking AS reserves the right to cancel or amend reservations based on misinterpretations or amendments to published price. 

You will get 100% refund if an activity or arrangement is cancelled by one our partners, for instance if the minimum number of participants, is not reached.
